Karen McCarthy is a published author, journalist and filmmaker. She has worked for some major international publications, including Al Jazeera English. She was an embedded reporter in Iraq, covered U.S. politics and business for a number of years and was nominated for a TV & Film award for her documentary work. She has appeared on the BBC and NPR and in the Huffington Post talking about her work and has been named one of Ireland's most impactful female broadcasters. She currently writes business and travel stories at Skyword. She is based in New York but travels frequently.
